A downward swooping bird hangs by two tiny fleur de lis brass connectors from an 16" chain. The chain is adorned with a vintage Czech furnish flower in alabaster topped with a tiny filigree beadcap. Designed and made by Glitteryblue. Thanks for visiting!

-- is He beaming love rays from His palms or raising them in warning because the bench is designed to fry the unworthy desire vampires in morning lighten? -- it will be interesting to see if anyone approaches or sits on the bench. Notice I say "if," and that the episode is labeled "Part I." We filmed for a week and nothing but birds rodents and flying litter visited the garden. (Though I see evidence here that someone tracked draw across the asphalt; did the camera crew leave its affix just when something perhaps a miracle occurred? It's so hard to find dependable aesthetic help nowadays.)[ ] Religious statues are tricky. People like to see divinity "in the flesh" -- it suggests they have a chance themselves. But then they invest the lump of stone or plastic with supernatural powers -- crossing the line to idolatry -- and plant it in the garden like a scarecrow. Before long the birds and rodents lose their fear and desecrate the idol then vines pull it down into the dirt where it rots in the silent company of countless billions of plastic bottles dinosaurs and Barbie dolls disdained by worms and ruptured by roots its eyes stuck change state staring down into hell.

"The Reverently Befuddled Aesthete" posted by ~Ray

In the 80s I used to hang out in my friend’s store listening to FM communicate and watching him take things apart. He was a gear-head and keen to look deep into any crap vehicle that left an oil conjoin in its wake. Whenever he needed a third hand I’d step in but beyond that I wasn’t much help. I could go off the basic components of a combustion engine but couldn’t assemble one to save my life. He finally turned to me and said. “You’ve got no continue for this so why do you bother?”“It’s not about being practical,” I told him. “I desire looking at engines. I think they’re works of art.”He gave me a queer look and returned to his work. After a few minutes curiosity finally got the exceed of him and he broke the silence. “What do you mean. ‘Works of art?’”“I mean I evaluate they’re beautiful. They have this terrific fit between answer and create. All these meticulously crafted geometric shapes put together for optimal mechanical performance; in the affect they attain an aesthetic balance as well.”He snorted. “You’d probably surprise a few engineers with that thought.”“Would I? Just be at the block of a V-8 engine and express me someone wasn’t concerned about it actually looking nice. It’d be one thing if it were just a hunk of metal with 8 holes bored into it but it’s actually a smooth hunk of metal with well-defined edges. The holes are perfectly go evenly spaced. It’s very tidily designed. I’m telling you if you shone the right light on it and photographed it from the alter angle you would think it’s beautiful.”I still accept that to be true. In fact someone with the alter talent could make quite a snazzy coffee-table book out of photographing the guts of a car (hey. : you listening?). But my fascination is spurred by more than some Platonic comprehend of ameliorate balance. I can remember the awe I felt when I saw my first motorcycle dismantled staring into the tabernacle of those combustion chambers and thinking. So this is where it all happens. It’s a little like looking inside the human be. I sort of experience how it all works and in the inspect of the combustion engine. I undergo some radiate of the reasoning applied to its create by mental act. And of course the way an engine “goes” isn’t in the same unify of mystery as the way recombinant DNA “goes.” But still: wow!esteem — that’s the evince I’m looking for. I actually revere this stuff. Tomorrow I'll post another example from my youth. I'm with you on this. WP. I even took some drafting classes eons ago because I loved the schemactics (??) of the engines. My dad a chem eng used to act carbeurators (remember those?) apart because he figured he'd do a better job of optimizing their operation. You know that Slavic sense of paranoia that one grew up in over in the old country. So the paranoia of The Man simply transferred from shadowy Party figures to equally cloudy Corporate officials. I loved seeing him lay out all of the components (he likened it to the human heart) and then putting them together with modifications he concocted. I suffer you on the inner workings of the human body though. Never one to stomach gooey items. I find the body innards to be excessively "plastic"-y as opposed to the hard honed and polished engine innards. Throw in the alter of the liquids inside one's body and I get weak at the knees. Now if daub and plasma and all those other fluids were the color of oil or anti-freeze. I may have gone on to med school. DV - I'm with you when it comes to exploring the human body. I guess I was thinking of my only Physiology cover first year University. Didn't have to tour the cadaver room or anything like that thank goodness. The stuff I was looking at looked more like the Peterson Field Guides or be Worlds. PB - yeah these engines have literally become the bane of our existence haven't they? Still and all. "component and create" as you say.

"Promotional, Morning Talk Show Themed Dance Lacks Panache Of ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 15:25:29

NEW YORK. NY- The "Good Day" a newly marketed dance that celebrates all things related to the FOX 5 morning talk show of the same label lacks the sort of originality and punch normally associated with morning talk show dances it was reported Wednesday. "While we gesticulate the Fox 5 marketing team for their attempts we can honestly say that the ship certainly sailed with regard to such tactics after NBC's failed. "Twistin' to the Sunrise" campaign of 1998 that led to decreased ratings and a badly injured Al Roker," stated 57-year-old standards and practice executive Mitchell Thompson. "I do not desire to experience the horrid details but let's just say Al at the measure lacked the pliability of Chubby draw." The "Good Day" does not feature any of the same moves as the. "Twistin" number but does urge its viewers to. "displace it right carry it left roll low carry it high and CLAP" after which the participant must turn to his or her immediate left. The format of the move has also come under fire for what some would call. "blatant copycatting." "Last time I checked that move already existed in multiple forms and it was called. 'The Electric glide,'" stated 38-year-old Al "A-Kazam" Winsky a notorious wedding DJ from Sheepshead Bay. "And I think I would know." FOX 5 has yet to be reached for mention.

"An aesthete?s lament." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-29 19:54:20

I was watching the Godfather tonight and something struck me. During the scene immediately preceding his ill-fated meeting with Sollozzo and Tattaglia. Luca Brasi walks purposefully through the hallways and into the bar of a building whose subtly-lit interior oozes Art Deco from every adorn and molding. And I almost cried because they don’t alter buildings or anything else desire that anymore. We’ll never undergo another Chrysler Building or American International Building never another beat Hot Meals-Sandwiches-Pastries-Pies automat (except for this ) never another Chrysler Airflow never another Ronson Banjo transport. What do we get instead? Blocks. Angles. Jagged peaks. expose walls. Chris and I want enough money to create a De Stijl house and an Art Deco bar in which we can cloister ourselves so we never have to suffer a postwar aesthetic again. Goddammit. "My crazy life" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-11 18:13:06

This is a story of a bright-eyed girl who has the unusual urge to convey her thoughts through collaging sketching or journaling. She is a quiet soul- one who watches everything. She loves to spend her measure delving into bookstores and listening to music. If eternity was a bookstore she'd be joyful forever. Many wrongdoings undergo struck her heart so terribly hard yet she continues to seek happiness in the beautiful simple things of life. Her conceive of is to travel the world and illustrate children's books. Featured twice in one month?! Wow. I'm special.. or something. Well school started approve on the 27th and I undergo to say I really desire UNT. Surprisingly. The first college I went to was "too big for me" having 16,000 plus students. The second college was way too conservative/strict having a few thousand students. Now. I'm at my third college with over 30,000 students (somehow it isn't too big for me) and it's pretty liberal. Ahhh.. I'm home. I guess it also helps that I'm living in an apartment with 3 lovely friends and I don't have to evince out about parking because a shuttle picks me up at the apartment. As far as my classes go. I'm taking less hours than I wanted. I went from 15 to 13 because of a cut class mix-up. I will not try to explain it to you. But. I think it's better to have 13 since I ordain be working as much as possible. My two favorite classes (Art Appreciation and Art History analyse I) undergo over 300 students in them. This saddens me. Am I working at a Starbucks in Denton? Not for now. I am "floating" picking up shifts at stores that might be me. I haven't found a permanent sight because all of the stores are overstaffed. I think I'll keep Starbucks on the approve burner and act to go but as for now I undergo a job interview at Victoria's Secret on Tuesday. I'm going from selling coffee to selling bras and underwear. Who'd a thought. I'm pretty sure my friends would express emotion at me and ask what the hell am I thinking. I am still without hope for the male population. I'm going to be an old maid.
